Your half-day tour begins as you board your motorcoach for a scenic drive through Place des Cocotiers, a popular meeting place lined by palm trees and centenary flame red trees. The square boasts four areas designed for the ultimate in relaxation: the oldest area, the "Place Feuillet," is landscaped around an authentic old-time music kiosk; the "Place Courbet" features the monumental "Céleste" fountain; the "Place de la Marne", and the "Olry Square" offers a café terrace overlooking a refreshing ornamental lake.

Enroute, you'll drive past old colonial houses in the Fauborg Blanchot district, one of Noumea's oldest residential districts. Continue on the Promenade Pierre Vernier along the waterfront to Ouen Toro Lookout where two Australian cannons from WWII stand guard. New Caledonia boasts the world's largest lagoon and a barrier reef that is second in size only to Australia's Great Barrier Reef. The perspective from this tip of the peninsula reveals the bays and beaches below as well as small marine reserves fringed with coral reefs.

Next, drive to a seaside restaurant where the wine specialist will offer French wines with cheeses to complement the vintage.

Your tour concludes with a relaxing drive to the pier. On your route is Noumea Yacht Club, the Southern Province Government House and Baie de l'Orphelinat (Bay of Orphans), named in memory of the orphans of Empress Eugénie sent to New Caledonia to be brides for the first settlers. Along the bay sits a special centennial monument in the form of an anchor, erected in 1953 to celebrate a century of French presence in New Caledonia.
