WHAT YOU VISIT
Hjortegarden
Known as the "Farm of the Red Deer," this enchanting family-fun experience begins with a ride to the quaint town of Stårheim, where you'll take a short ferry ride to the community of Isane. Then, you'll continue by coach to Ålfoten and the quaint Hjortegarden. Set in the heart of an important nature reserve, the farm is surrounded by woods near a sparkling bay. Once you arrive, you'll be greeted by owners Sonja and Karl Vidar who will lead you on a tour, share their story of farm life and show you how to pet and feed the deer.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
Have your cameras ready when you meet the deer. Native to Norway, red deer are recognized by their short tails, large head with wide spaced brown eyes; and the stags' antlers are the species most distinguishing feature.

REFRESHMENTS
After feeding these majestic creatures, you'll be rewarded with a delicious slice of cake, prepared according to grandma's recipe.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Your ride from Isane to Hjortegarden takes you along a scenic road lined with woods, rolling hills and the sparkling waters of the Nordfjord.
