What you will visit:

Amalfi Coast Cruise
See a perspective on the Amalfi Coast that most visitors miss when you enjoy a 45-minute motorboat cruise along the gorgeous Amalfi coastline. This 31-mile (50-kilometer) stretch of shore is so picturesque that it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997 for its magnificent natural beauty, majestic scenery, magnificent cliffs and historical importance. You'll cruise along the bright blue waters from Salerno, and with each curve of the coastline, you'll be treated to stony outposts, quaint villages, tiled church steeples and bougainvillea-dotted hillsides.
The Amalfi Cathedral (optional)
Found in Amalfi's Piazza del Duomo, this striking structure has 62 stairs leading to its entrance. Its Romanesque façade is Arabic-influenced with a bold mix of stripes, arches, mosaics and textures. Take a stroll around the courtyard and see its lovely Mediterranean garden. The cloister leads into the Basilica of the Crucifix with amazing frescoes. The cathedral's museum and treasury is located in the basilica. Church admission is extra. Please dress conservatively.
Pompeii
The eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D. was a monumental natural disaster that killed thousands and entombed the city of Pompeii. A visit to this UNESCO World Heritage Site is an opportunity to view a moment in time preserved for more than 2,000 years in this lost city buried deep beneath the ash. Walk among the ruins that, in exquisite detail, paint a picture of daily Roman life. Known as a vacation community for high society, some of the ruins are remarkably preserved, with elaborately detailed mosaics and colorful frescoes decorating the interiors of wealthy homeowners' villas.

What you will see along the way:
Cruise the storied Amalfi Coast. Costiera Amalfitana in Italian, Amalfi's coastline ribbons along the southern shore of Salerno Gulf. This popular destination, renowned for its breathtaking beauty, was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site cultural landscape in 1997. Drink in the spectacular vistas and marvel at the greatness of the Dolomitic Cliffs towering out of the turquoise sea in spectacular shapes, the sweeping vistas, and the windswept beaches.

Photo Opportunity:
Fill your camera with breathtaking images on a scenic 45-minute cruise along the gorgeous Amalfi coastline. It's an ideal photo opportunity for shots of the rocky outcroppings and verdant grottos dotting the cliffs.

Lunch:
In Pompeii, lunch will be served at a local restaurant or hotel. Enjoy an authentic meal using fresh, seasonal ingredients of the Campania region.

Shopping:

Cameo Factory
Find a beautiful keepsake souvenir at a local cameo factory. Here, skilled artisans apply techniques handed down for generations, intricately carving seashells or coral into beautiful jewelry and true works of art.

Special Notes

This tour will not operate in December.

The drive from Naples to Salerno takes approximately 45 minutes; the drive from Pompeii to Naples takes approximately 30 minutes. The drive from Salerno to Pompeii takes approximately 45 minutes.

Lunch may be served in Salerno instead. The tour may operate in reverse order.

For security reasons, it is forbidden to enter inside Pompeii excavations with big bags, backpacks or trolleys. Please be aware that, since lockers are not available, it is recommended to leave them inside the coach.
Long queues may be experienced at the entrance of the excavation site.

At Pompeii, guests must be able to walk approximately 1.5 miles over cobblestones and uneven ground, and need to negotiate a steep incline at the entrance with 20-25 steps.

Passengers who suffer from motion sickness should take this into consideration.

In case of bad weather, rough seas, or operational restrictions due to overcrowding at the ports of Amalfi or Salerno, the cruise between Amalfi and Salerno may be cancelled and the tour will proceed entirely by coach. In this case, the visit to Amalfi will be replaced with an alternative village on the Amalfi Coast (such as Maiori, Minori or Vietri sul Mare).
During the navigation along the Amalfi Coast, commentary will be provided by the guide through audio headsets. However, due to weather conditions, wind, sea conditions, and the natural engine noise of the motorboat, explanations may not always be clearly audible to all guests. While every effort is made to ensure the best possible listening experience, these factors are beyond our control and may occasionally affect the quality of the audio during the coastal crossing. The boat offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The vessel used may vary in size and capacity. Depending on the size of the group and seating arrangements, you may be seated either inside or outside.
