Knysna is set on the banks of the large photogenic, warm-water estuary known as the Knysna Lagoon.

LUNCH
There's plenty of fish in the waters off Knysna and many of them find themselves on most menus including fresh oysters, braaied (grilled) fish like kingklip, yellowtail, calamari, and Portuguese-style seafood.

SHOPPING
Look for handcrafted wooden items, locally made marine-themed crafts and and ostrich leather products.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Departing from the pier, you will drive east along the magnificently scenic Garden Route, passing ancient forests, golden beaches and craggy peaks covered in a flowering scrub called fynbos. The landscape is stunningly beautiful, especially in the Wilderness Lakes region that leads into Knysna.
