WHAT YOU VISIT
Ostrich Farm
Situated in the arid Klein Karoo valley against the backdrop of the Swartberg and Outeniqua Mountains, this working farm is set in the ostrich capital of the world. Fun for kids of all ages, the tour offers a look at every aspect of ostrich farming, from breeding to rearing. The tour starts in the breeding camp with a nest of ostrich eggs, where the first stage of the ostrich life cycle is explained. Enjoy a tractor ride through the ostrich farm while you learn about these fascinating creatures. After your tour you will sit down for a delicious lunch followed by time to shop for souvenirs.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
During the tour, you'll see large flocks of ostriches at different stages of development in the surrounding fields. Because ostriches have massive, expressive eyes, keep the focus locked on the eye for compelling pictures.

LUNCH
For lunch, you have a choice between ostrich meat or chicken along with two drinks per person (house wine / local beer or soda).

From Mossel Bay you will have the chance to enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the famous Garden Route coast before turning inland up into the Outeniqua Mountains where the rugged coastal landscape transforms into the starkly beautiful Karoo, with its desert-like arid climate and breathtaking scenery.
