A relaxed, half-day adventure takes in the splendid beauty of Jodogahama Beach, the Buddhist word for Pure Land, and its dramatic coastline by shoreline cruise. Travel to this picturesque stretch of sand, designated as a national scenic spot. The landscape is quite dramatic, with the bright white rocks composed of rhyolite set in stark contrast to the deep blue ocean and lush pine trees. At the Visitors Center, learn more about the region through display panels and video monitors. A short walk along the beach trail brings you to the boat dock, where you will embark on a 30-minute cruise past the natural delights of the Sanriku coast. Then, stroll to the Miyako Fish Market, a produce and seafood marketplace that is the kitchen of Miyako. Interact with the locals and get a sense of the local gastronomic highlights. Return to port after this lovely day.
