What you will visit:
Airboat Cruise in the Everglades
Everglades National Park is a 1.5-million-acre wetlands preserve and a unique ecosystem with some of the world's most diverse vegetation and wildlife. The lush shoreline is a haven for large and small birds, and the waters teem with large-mouth bass and catfish. This is the only place in the world where you'll find both crocodiles and more than 200,000 alligators making their home. Your airboat has a flat bottom and a large driving airplane propeller at the stern. It is able to glide over the surface of the shallow waters at speeds of up to 50 mph.
What you will see along the way:
The tropical wetlands have shallow water and stunning scenery best explored on a stable airboat that can navigate the mangrove and cypress swamps, sawgrass prairies, and apple pond trees. Enjoy the beauty of the "River of Grass" and keep a lookout for colorful birds, mammals and reptiles. You may even catch sight of the park's most famous resident, the impressive and mysterious American alligator. The Everglades is the only place in the world where alligators and crocodiles exist side by side, so keep your camera ready!
