Today's tour will show you the northern side of Melbourne, home to the trendy hotspots of Carlton and Fitzroy, the universities and great medical institutions, the Royal Exhibition Building and the modern Melbourne Museum. This Museum explores life in Victoria, from the natural environment to the state's culture and history. A tour of the highlights of the Museum by one of the Museum's experienced guides will include the Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre, which tells the story of the First Peoples, as well as The Melbourne Story packed with icons of the city's past and present. there are tales of heroes and scoundrals, growth and decline, and the changing ways Melburnians live, work and play.
Leaving the Museum behind, you will rejoin your coach and enjoy some panoramic sightseeing through the northern areas of Melbourne where the chequered past and working-class origins of Fitzroy and Collingwood have given way to Australia's most dynamic creative hub. Discover the small, independent business culture at the forefront of Australian industry. You will also pass through Carlton, the Italian heart of Melbourne and home to the Royal Exhibition Building, as well as the University precinct.
