A full-day adventure unfolds on this exciting tour of Mazatlan's most historic and iconic sights, which includes a delicious buffet lunch and folkloric show.

Begin with a scenic drive that leaves the port and travels through the beautiful, historic old town to the dramatic 19th century Immaculada Concepcion Cathedral.

At this masterful architectural landmark, note the intricate façade, the twin towers and the outer domes, which are adorned with bright yellow European tile. Note the impressive white sculptures of St. Matthew, St. Mark, St. Luke, and St. John that preside over the four corner entrances. Interestingly, this cathedral displays a gothic style exterior and shows little signs of Spanish architectural influences. Even the cathedral's interior is known for its baroque style. Facing the cathedral is Plazuela Republica, with its charming early 19th century bandstand and mature palm trees.

Continue your drive along the sparkling coastline for views of outer islands and ocean-front properties. In the distance, the world's highest natural lighthouse, El Faro, peacefully stands guard over this picture-perfect scene. A rocky promontory greets you, and here you'll make a brief stop to watch the local cliff divers. Marvel at the death-defying feats that these high-flying divers perform as they plunge into the rocky surf from a 59-foot high ledge. Divers must time their descent perfectly, and you may notice other divers at both the top of the cliff and at its base helping the diver to time his leap.

From here you'll make your way along Mazatlan's Boardwalk, one of Mexico's longest, traveling to the "Golden Zone," Mazatlan's shopping and hotel mecca. It's hard to believe that only 60 years ago this pristine upscale row was a swamp!

A true Mexican landmark, Hotel Playa, the first hotel to be built along the beach, is your next stop. With over 65 years of history, this sun splashed playground to the rich and famous welcomes you to a wonderful Mexican buffet lunch. Savor the flavors of a traditional Mexican fiesta, at this buffet brimming with local gourmet delicacies. The highlight of the day is undoubtedly the special folkloric show.

What a thrilling treat, suitable for the whole family filled with dancing and live music! Sip your complimentary beverage as you watch a Mexican folkloric show in traditional costumes perform the songs and dances.

As the tour draws to a close, sit back and relax on your ride back to port, chatting with your fellow travelers about the wondrous day celebrating Mazatlan's historic and cultural highlights.
