WHAT YOU VISIT
Le Petit Train Adventure: From Seaside Views to Notre Dame de La Garde
Discover the many charms of Marseilles with a fun ride aboard the Petit Train, a convenient open-air shuttle that travels past narrow streets, bustling quays, and sunlit façades before the track begins its ascent toward the crown jewel of the city - the Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde. As the train climbs, the Mediterranean sparkles on one side and Marseille's terracotta rooftops spread out below. At the top, step out onto the basilica's terrace, where sweeping views stretch across the Frioul Islands and deep into the Provence countryside. Inside, marvel at the richly decorated interior of marble and mosaics. Return to port by bus or enjoy free time in Marseille and make your way back to the ship by shuttle (included).

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
Built between 1852 and 1873, the enormous Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde sits on a hill overlooking the city. Famed for its colored marble, superb Byzantine-style mosaics and multi-colored murals, the ornate dome was recently restored and the bell tower is crowned with a statue of the Virgin Mary, the guardian of the city.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Starting from the Old Port, the Petit Train travels along the scenic Corniche seaside road. With audio commentary, you'll hear highlights of points of interest you'll see along the way including Fort Saint-Jean, built by King Louis XIV in the 17th century and the picturesque fishing port of Vallon des Auffes.

Schedule
