WHAT YOU VISIT
Cosquer Cave at the Villa Mediterranée Cultural Center
After meeting your guide at the pier, you'll travel by shuttle to city center. Then, you'll walk to Villa Mediterranée Cultural Center and enter a replica of the Cosquer Cave. While the original cave, located in Calanque de Morgiou, and its over 500 works of Paleolithic art is slowly disappearing under the water, the replica will help you unlock the secrets of the homo sapiens who lived in the cave 30,000 years ago. Step into an elevator and descend 37 meters (121 feet) and take your seat in an exploratory vehicles and ride past recreated images with an audio guide providing background and context. Additional rooms offer a documentary and dive equipment by professional diver Henri Cosquer who discovered the cave in 1985.

There are approximately 2 hours of walking included in this tour. Guests may stay longer in town if they wish to enjoy more free time, and then return to port by shuttle bus (included in the price). Photography is not allowed inside Cosquer Cave. Not suitable for guests using wheelchairs/walkers or with walking difficulties.
