What you will visit:
Hiking the Caminito Del Rey
Once considered one of the most dangerous paths in the world, today the Caminito del Rey (The King's Walkway) has been safely restored and is a walkway that hugs the sheer cliff walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro Natural Park. The scenery is stunning, and the area has earned the Europa Nostra Award for heritage conservation. The route is 8 kilometers (5 miles) of both paths and walkways. It traverses the beautiful natural area of the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, which is 700 meters deep.
Note: This path is strenuous and not appropriate for those who experience dizziness from heights. Restrooms are at the entrance and at the exit, not along the trail. Safety equipment and helmet provided.

Special Notes
The management of El Caminito del Rey may decide to close access to the path due to adverse weather conditions without prior notice, even on the same day of the call. In case the access to the Caminito del Rey is closed, the visit will be foregone and replaced with the village of Mijas or a panoramic drive of Malaga combined with a guided walking tour of the old town.
The tour does not operate on Mondays.
It approximately takes approximately 3.5 hours to cover the route of El Caminito del Rey path from Ardales in the north to Álora in the south, a downhill way. Visitors are supposed to plan their lunch and take sandwiches or other prepared meal because there are no places arranged for it on the boardwalks, nor it is advisable to stop to eat there in order not to influence the flow of visits. Visitors should know there are no toilets along the paths. Only at the entrance and at the exit there can be found. People can only move in the areas which are authorized and indicated for that purpose. Therefore, you have to respect the banning and information signs. Everybody should walk on the right side of the trail, above all, along the boardwalks. There is to be careful when walking next to the rail that protects from falling down the gorge in order to avoid hazard. Visitors are obliged to put on correctly the safety equipment and the helmet that will be provided at the entrance. This path is not recommended for people who are not fit enough, or might suffer from dizziness (the boardwalks are quite narrow and very high).
This is a guided tour, participants on tour will be accompanied in all the itinerary (pier to pier) by a Guide. The tour is not recommended to guests with heart disease, respiratory illness and mobility concern.
You will be hiking on paved gravel, rough terrain, steps, inclined surfaces. Bring water or some energy drinks, chocolate bars, energy bars, nuts, fruit, sun cream. Bring a head cover and sturdy or hiking/ sport shoes. Minimum age 8 years. Large bags and backpacks are not allowed. Please bring along a small backpack.
