Your excursion begins at the pier where you'll board your motorcoach and travel through Funchal. Pass the picturesque fishing village of Camara de Lobos, a favorite haunt of Sir Winston Churchill's in the 1950s, en route to Cabo Girao.
Travel past vineyards, terraced fields, and pinewoods and eucalyptus groves to the cliff top of Cabo Girao. This second-highest sea cliff in the world is a sheer drop of over 1,500 feet from the top to the waves below. The viewpoint affords dramatic views of the coast and Funchal in the distance.
Return to Funchal via the viewpoint of Pico dos Barcelos.
Next, visit The Blandy Wine Lodge. Established in 1811, Blandy's is one of the oldest and most respected producers of Madeira. Visit the wine lodge and learn how the four different types of Madeira wine are vinified and sample two varieties.
