WHAT YOU VISIT:
Discover two Costa Rican ecosystems and jungle locations while contributing to research and conservation! Outdoor enthusiasts will relish the opportunity to spend the entire day in the tropical paradise just outside of Limón. The Tortuguero Canals and the Veragua Rainforest are your destinations on this fascinating adventure.

Tortuguero Canals by Boat: Begin with a gentle covered boat ride through the Tortuguero Canals known for their lush scenery and rich wildlife. Sit back and relax as you explore "Costa Rica's Amazon". Your naturalist guide will point out the amazing flora and fauna.

Wildlife Viewing: As you drift past orchids and water lilies, keep your camera ready for toucans, sloths, howler and spider monkeys, crocodiles, iguanas, manatees, river otters, turtles or any of the 300 bird, 57 amphibian, 111 reptile, and 60 mammal species that live here.

SNACK:
Enjoy a seasonal fruit snack before venturing onward.

Veragua Rainforest: Next, travel to the mountaintop Veragua Rainforest, called "the cream of the cream of the rainforest" by National Geographic Traveler.

Frog Exhibit, Reptile Habitat and Butterfly Garden: Begin with an educational frog exhibit. Marvel at large bullfrogs, red-eye tree frogs, and mesmerizing, tiny frogs smaller than a fingernail. Walk through a live reptile exhibit, learning about iguanas, snakes and lizards. Then, explore one of Costa Rica's largest Butterfly Gardens.

LUNCH:
Enjoy a delicious Costa Rican lunch of rice, beans, chicken, steamed vegetables, and plantains.

Sky Gondola: Glide through the forest on the Sky Gondola (aerial tram), traveling from the mountaintop to the river while marveling at the endless views. Your guide will point out wildlife that makes this one of the most biodiverse locales on the planet. Keep an eye-- and ear-- out for howler monkeys, sloths, toucans, and parrots!

Nature Trails: Take an easy walk along the riverbank on the Trail of the Giants or choose a challenging path to the 65-foot Puma Waterfall. Your guide will teach you along the way.

Foundation for Rainforest Research: Visit the Foundation and learn about rainforest species preservation from a biologist and appreciate how your ticket contributes to scientific research conducted here with the University of Costa Rica. Three species new to science have been discovered in this area!

SHOPPING:
Gift Shop: Enjoy free time in one of the region's finest gift shops, offering a diverse selection of souvenirs, locally crafted items, and exclusive merchandise reflecting Costa Rican culture. Choose from coffee, chocolate, t-shirts, hats, art, and more. Importantly, 100% of the park's gift shop profits support the Foundation's rainforest research!
