What you will visit:
Lanzarote (driving tour)
Lanzarote has earned its moniker as the 'Mythic Island' due to the dramatic volcanic activity that has sculpted outer-worldly landscapes of lunar beauty. A scenic drive includes the Timanfaya National Park (outside), a natural museum of unique beauty. Made of nothing but volcanic soil, the park looks the same as it did when violent volcanic eruptions devastated this part of the island hundreds of years ago. You'll also pass the vineyards of La Geria, where farmers have found a clever way of cultivating vines on this arid and hostile ground.
What you will see along the way:
From your comfortable motorcoach, head into to the southern part of Lanzarote, known for its breathtaking lunar-like landscapes. Gazing out the window, watch the unusual landscapes go by; volcanic and rocky, they have an other-worldly beauty. As you travel, admire the pretty villages, and look out for Monumento al Campesino, the Peasant Monument, created by Cesar Manrique to commemorate the hard work of the peasant community of Lanzarote.
Photo Opportunity:
A photo stop will be made at a winery in La Geria, an agricultural area so unusual it has been designated "land art" and a protected natural landscape.
