Moderate Activity
Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
Your tour begins as you board your motorcoach for a scenic drive southwest to Pantai Cenang, a white-sand beach lined with picturesque chalets and coconut trees, overlooking the waters of the Andaman Sea.
You'll continue to Laman Padi. Translated "Rice Garden," the museum is a tribute to the staple diet of rice in almost all of Asia. Here, you'll experience a sampling of anything that goes into the cultivation, nurturing and harvesting of rice ("padi"). You'll see and touch tools like fish traps made of bamboo and replicas of traditional rice-based foods.
Next, you'll make your way to Oriental Village in the upper northwest of Langkawi Island, home to a wide array of shops and boutiques, and a popular cable car system. The system has the longest suspension in the world between two stations, and was built without constructing any roads through the jungle.
Upon arrival in Oriental Village, you'll board your cable car ride to the Mount Mat Cincang, Langkawi's second highest peak, soaring over 2,000 feet above sea level. The car travels a 42-degree incline along the slopes, and on a clear day, you can see from Thailand in the north to Indonesia in the southwest.
After your high-flying adventure, you'll travel to the Budaya Craft & Cultural Complex along the northern coast of Langkawi. You'll see the local handicraft which includes elegant silverwork, pottery and woodcarvings. Before departing for your return drive to the pier, you'll have free time to browse for gifts and souvenirs.
