WHAT YOU VISIT
LA Coruna by Tuk-Tuk
A tour in a four-person tuk-tuk is a fun and easy way to explore La Coruña. Each one runs totally silent and is customized with an electric, emission-free and environmentally friendly motor. Your approximately one-hour ride begins at the pier where your tuk-tuk awaits. Hop in and get ready to meet the city the Romans believed was founded by Hercules over 2,000 years ago. Your driver/guide will travel down Marina Avenue and around the peninsula past the 16th century San Antón Castle to the Tower of Hercules. Then it's on past Domus Museum, a science museum dedicated to the human being, and the beaches of Orzan and Riazor where Picasso would visit when he spent his early years in La Coruna. Finally, a ride through the cobbled streets of Old Town takes you back to the ship.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
While this excursion offers many photo ops, be sure to focus your lens on the Tower of Hercules. Located at the harbor's entrance on a 57-meter-high rock (187-foot-high), it's acclaimed by UNESCO as "the only fully preserved Roman lighthouse that is still used for maritime signaling."
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
As the tuk-tuk travels down Marina Avenue, you'll be greeted by typical Galician 19th century buildings with their unique glass-paned balconies.
