Your adventure through Malaysia's capital city begins as soon as you board your motorcoach. The 90-minute drive travels along and passing by industrial and commercial developments, small townships and the impressive expressway developments where your guide will point out many of the city's most impressive landmarks.
Your first stop is a tour of the National Museum. The Museum was built in the style of a Malay palace. It consists of a large central main entrance hall that is flanked by two exhibition wings. The two large murals on the exterior of the exhibition wings depict scenes of the country - the mural on the rights depicts the culture and customs of Malaysian while the one on the left chronicles the historical episodes of the nations. The museum houses various galleries with different themes - Historical Gallery, Cultural Gallery, Metal works and Musical Instrument Gallery, National Sports Gallery and the National History Gallery. In the vicinity of the museum building, there are a number of outdoor displays of transportation in Malaysia, past and present.
During your tour, there'll be plenty of photo opportunities including the Moorish-style architecture of the Old Railway Station and the extraordinary National Mosque, built in 1965 in honor of Malaysia gaining independence from Great Britain without any bloodshed in 1957, the key feature is the 73-metre-high minaret and a 16-pointed star concrete main roof.
The Jamek Mosque, built in 1907, is the oldest mosque in Kuala Lumpur. You'll also see Merdeka Square. Also known as Independence Square, this historical area is home to the Royal Selangor Club (site of the August 31, 1957 proclamation declaring Malaysia's independence from Britain), and the National Monument commemorating Malaysia's heroes of World War II.
Conclude with a photo stop at the soaring PETRONAS Twin Towers, the tallest twin tower structure in the world and a pervasive symbol of the city's ingenuity, innovation and eternal optimism before your tour ends with a scenic drive back to your ship.
