Rich in history, Klang, the former capital of Selangor, one of the nation's 13 states, is a vibrant place filled with mosques, temples, bazaars, and beauty. Your drive from the ship follows a scenic route through a rural landscape dotted with palm trees and small villages to your first destination.

Once you've arrived at the Malaysia Chinese House, you'll enjoy a true Malaysian experience not to be missed. You'll meet with a typical Malaysia Chinese family in their home and be treated to delicious cakes and coffee or tea while an English interpreter is on hand to help translate the conversation. (According to custom, you'll need to remove your shoes before entering the home).

Your trip to Klang wouldn't be complete without a chance to see some of its most famous landmarks. As your motorcoach travels through the suburb, you'll have many wonderful photo opportunities including the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, commonly known as the Blue Mosque. Measuring over 350 feet in diameter, it can hold 24,000 worshippers at one time. An architectural delight, the Mosque's huge blue dome is made of aluminum and the 465-foot tall minarets are the world's largest. You'll also have the chance to view the Istana Alam Shah, the official palace of the Sultan of Selangor. Built in 1905, the palace's most prominent feature is its golden dome that can be seen from many points in the city.

You'll disembark in Little India, one of Klang's oldest districts for a chance to shop. On the other side of the Klang Bridge, the sights, sounds and smell of Little India welcomes you. You will find stores and stalls full of clothing, accessories, spices, flowers, souvenirs and more line the sidewalks. Indian Palmists will greet you and offer to tell your fortune and sell you amulets and good luck charms. Food street vendors can be seen everywhere selling tasty and colorful snacks sure to tempt your taste buds.

At the end of your shopping excursion, you'll travel along the fast changing development route back to your ship.
