WHAT YOU VISIT
Kayaking Kristiansand & Odderøy Island
Admire the unparalleled views of Kristiansand's icy-blue waters from the seat of a two-person kayak. Whether this is your first time kayaking or you're an old pro, this invigorating adventure around Odderøya is designed for a maximum of just 16 people. The tour starts with a brief walk from the pier to the kayak station. Before stepping into your kayak, you'll be equipped with protective clothing and participate in a brief safety lesson. Once on the water, the guide will demonstrate paddle techniques with time to practice. Then, you'll follow your guide into the open water; en route, the guide will share Odderøya's history and point out various points of interest such as the sandy bays, dramatic sea cliffs, two lighthouses, the Art Museum and Kilden Performing Arts Center, built to rival Australia's Sydney Opera House.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
Located on Odderøya's southwestern coast stands the 8.7-metre (29-foot) tall Odderøya Lighthouse.
Built in 1984, it's a photogenic standout for its iconic cylindrical tower painted white with a red stripe and a red roof. Next to it is the original lighthouse it replaced. Erected in 1874, it's protected by law by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
The picturesque sights include Kristiansand harbor and the bay, fishermen's jetties, fish market and restaurants. Before returning to the pier, you'll paddle past the Royal Jetty, which is reserved for the King of Norway.
