What you will visit:

Marine Wildlife Excursion
The Kona coast's pelagic zone and crystalline waters are home to a diverse ecosystem of marine life and natural geographical formations. The area is a preferred destination for the sighting of whales, dolphins, monk seals, sea turtles and much more. Climb aboard a military-grade Zodiac Hurricane, the vessel favored by the Navy SEALs, on a small-group (16-person maximum) adventure enhanced by an experienced, onboard naturalist who provides commentary, answers questions and assists in capturing the very best photographs as you cruise for three hours appreciating the ocean and its inhabitants.

What you will see along the way:
Located on the youngest and largest of the Hawaiian Islands, the Kona coast offers infinite scenic beauty. As you cruise, you'll be treated to views of the white-sand beaches, lush green foliage and dramatic lava formations. Keep your camera at the ready for playful dolphins, spouting whales, graceful sea turtles, supple sharks, the endangered Hawaiian monk seals and seabirds flying overhead.

Photo Opportunities:
Everyone on board the vessel keeps a keen eye out for pelagic wildlife wonders. When spotted, the agile nature of the vessel allows the captain to get the best possible view, and you can photograph the marine animals without disturbing them. A tip for photographing sea life is to make sure the camera is close to your eye at all times, as the two to three seconds it takes to position the camera might make all the difference.

Snack:
Refresh during the day with a light snack including chips, cookies, fresh fruit and an assortment of Hawaiian juices, soft drinks and water.

Special Notes

Minimum age is 4 years. Guests are encouraged to bring cameras to photograph wildlife and become a valuable contributor to citizen science. Wildlife encounters are not guaranteed; however, with the abundance of year-round ocean residents, the chance of no sightings is low. This is an adventure tour that travels to a remote ocean destination. Guests must be ambulatory, be in good general health, and be able to step from dock down into the Zodiac. For safety purposes on the vessel and in the ocean, if the guest is hearing or visually impaired, they must be accompanied by a companion. Please bring towels, reef-safe sunscreen, hat and camera and wear a swimsuit if you want to take a quick dip.
