What you will visit:
Svyturys Brewery
Founded in 1784 by the merchant J.W. Reinke, Svyturys is the second oldest brewery in Lithuania. The brewery was completely rebuilt in 2018. Now paired with the Brooklyn Brewing Company and Carlsberg, Svyturys began by creating traditional bock, Bavarian and porter beers and now manufactures a wide variety of products, including many award-winning beverages and the super small batch offerings called Raudonos Plytos. A tour of the soaring facilities takes you through the brewing process and ends with a sampling of five of the wares at the thriving on-site brewpub.Klaipėda - Old Town (walking tour)Founded in 1252 by Teutonic knights under the name 'Memelburg,' Klaipėda is the oldest city in Lithuania. The influence of German design is exhibited along the cobbled streets of the Old Town and the 18th-century buildings of the crafts yard, home to the city's artisans and considered the cultural center of the area. The city's passion for statuary is on full display here, with the little boy of the famed 'Childhood's Dream' waving his hat to the passing ships alongside his canine companion. Dogs, cats and mice are immortalized in bronze alongside their human counterparts in artwork scattered throughout the city.

What you will see along the way:
A bronze boy waves his hat to passing ships and the young girl who inspired a national poet to fall in love, the 'Annchen von Tharau,' can be found in Theatre Square, alongside statues of a cat and a mouse that are said to grant wishes. A return to the port brings you to a huge and frightening ghost, which represents a friendly spirit who warned the town of low-running timber stocks. Large and small, friendly and unique, Klaipeda is a city of statues.
