Your excursion begins as you board your motorcoach for a short drive to the flight terminal, where you'll board an authentic Alaska bush plane.
As your flight takes off from the bustling downtown Ketchikan harbor, panoramic views of Revillagigedo Island and the spectacular mountains of the Tongass National Forest are revealed. The narrated flight highlights the historic importance of your aircraft and the landmarks below. After 20 minutes of breathtaking scenery, you'll experience the thrill of a landing on the tranquil waters at the George Inlet Lodge, a rustic, yet elegant oasis that once served as a 1900s cannery bunkhouse.
Your host will seat you in the Eagle Dining Room to enjoy awe-inspiring views. Prepare to indulge in a mouthwatering Alaska tasting adventure featuring your choice of three craft beers or ciders from renowned Alaska makers, each carefully paired with a selection of delectable dishes. Depending on your arrival time enjoy a breakfast or lunch menu, both highlighting delectable Dungeness crab and a sweet treat. Lunch starts with homemade crab chowder (or opt for a fresh salad with an Asian-style dressing). Savor the flavors of fresh crab egg rolls and a crab cake, followed by a half steaming hot Dungeness crab, cooked to perfection. Conclude your meal with a delightful piece of blueberry-topped cheesecake, a perfect blend of sweet and tart. As you enjoy each bite, you'll learn the art of crab cracking, hear entertaining stories about Alaska fishing and crabbing as well as a brief history of the lodge.
You'll cap your day off with a scenic coastal drive back to the pier.
