What you will visit:
Iao Valley State Park
Discover the captivating allure of a historic gem known as the " Valley of Kings." Nestled in Central Maui, just west of Wailuku, Iao Valley State Park is a 4,000-acre sanctuary that stretches 10 miles and is graced by towering emerald peaks that guard a lush valley floor. At its heart stands the awe-inspiring Iao Needle, a 1,200-foot verdant rock formation overlooking the serenity of Iao stream. This iconic landmark beckons nature enthusiasts and history buffs alike. Beyond its natural tropical splendor, Iao Valley bears witness to significant historical events. In 1790, the Battle of Kepaniwai unfolded here, as King Kamehameha I clashed with Maui's forces in his mission to unite the Hawaiian islands. With Iao Needle as a sentinel, Kamehameha triumphed, altering the course of Hawaiian history forever.
Kula Botanical Garden
Nestled gracefully on the gentle slopes of Haleakala, Kula Botanical Garden invites you to embark on a journey through a lush paradise like no other. Established in 1968, this enchanting eight-acre wonderland unfolds before your eyes, revealing a tapestry of vibrant and exotic flora, awe-inspiring rock formations, a charming covered bridge, cascading waterfalls, a serene koi pond, an aviary, and a captivating carved tiki exhibit. With its meticulous labeling, a walk through the grounds is an opportunity to learn the plants' botanical names, common monikers, and countries of origin. A particularly treasured collection of native Hawaiian plants offers a glimpse into the rich biodiversity of the islands.
Lavender Farm Fridays-Mondays
