Your journey begins at the pier where you'll board your air-conditioned minibus. From the pier, we'll travel up country on a scenic drive, passing sugar cane fields, pineapple plantations and panoramic views of the island for Haleakala National Park.
Your minibus takes a circuitous road that meanders uphill for miles to Haleakala National Park's Visitor Center. Last erupting in 1790, the volcano's massive crater is over seven-miles long and three-miles wide. The crater floor is located 3,000 feet below the rim and dotted with plant life and cinder cones. Enjoy the breathtaking view from the crater's rim.
After your visit to Haleakala, enjoy an island-style lunch at a local venue.
Next, we'll head for Maui Ocean Center, past small farms and ranches, where you can see sharks, stingrays, sea turtles, a rainbow of tropical fish and much more. The exhibits include the Living Reef, a Marine Mammal Discovery Center, a Touch Pool and the Living Journey, where you can walk through a 54-foot underwater transparent tube surrounded by all matter of marine life, including sharks, the great hunters of the sea. Visit the gift shop, which offers a range of souvenirs including apparel, art, books, jewelry and Hawaiian crafts before we re-board the motorcoach for the return route back to the ship.
