A Jeff Corwin Exclusive excursion, this adventure celebrates the breathtaking natural beauty of Alaska and carries the seal of approval of Princess Cruises' Nature & Adventure Ambassador.

What you will visit:

Flightseeing – Gastineau Channel, Taku Inlet & Juneau Icefield Board a six-passenger floatplane and depart over the Gastineau Channel, following the rugged coastline toward the mouth of Taku Inlet-the gateway to the largest flowing glaciers of the Juneau Icefield. Fly alongside this vast expanse of ice before descending for a glacial lake landing positioned between the Norris and Taku Glaciers, with views of both ice masses from above and at water level.

Packrafting – Glacial Lake & Packraft Cove After landing on a glacially carved lake between the Norris and Taku Glaciers, hike across glacially carved terrain to "Packraft Cove." After safety instructions, launch in a one-person packraft onto the glacial lake. Paddle among floating icebergs toward the terminus of the Norris Glacier, surrounded by towering ice and a remote alpine landscape shaped entirely by glacial forces.

Glacier Trekking – Norris Glacier At the glacier's edge, your guide pulls you and your packraft directly onto the Norris Glacier. Transition from water to ice, trading paddles for microspikes and a trekking pole. Explore the glacier on foot, navigating an otherworldly surface of vivid blue ice, sculpted formations, and slick, uneven terrain before returning across the lake and departing by floatplane.

What you will see along the way:
Soar over the Gastineau Channel and into a vast expanse of ice and rock as the Juneau Icefield stretches to the horizon. Below, rugged peaks give way to massive flowing glaciers, including the Norris and Taku, separated by a glacially carved lake scattered with floating icebergs. At water level, the scale shifts, as icebergs drift silently across the lake, their deep blue tones reflecting light in shimmering patterns. Ahead, the face of the Norris Glacier rises, a wall of fractured ice marking the transition from water to land. When you walk on the glacier itself, an otherworldly landscape unfolds. The terrain is dynamic, with textures and colors that reveal the glacier's age and activity, all set within a remote alpine environment defined entirely by ice.

Snack:
Enjoy a selection of snacks to fuel your adventure, including a granola bar, fruit leather, applesauce, and a meat stick; items may vary depending on availability.
