The Westfjords area boasts a breathtaking landscape of uninhabited fjords, beautiful snow-streaked mountains and steep, ragged cliffs. And its sparkling waters make an ideal home for remarkable wildlife. Your motorized boat waits at the pier; once aboard the skipper will head out towards the coastline where thousands of seabirds gather along the coastline and on the bay's islands.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
The waters of the Westfjords also teem with marine life and you may spot a whale, harbor seal and dolphin.
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Once aboard, your captain will steer a course across the waters of the 85-kilometer (53-mile) long Isafjardardjup-one of Iceland's largest fjord systems with eight different individual fjords and three islands.

If the weather conditions make it difficult to sail around the island of Vigur, we will head to a nearby fjord where birds are also abundant and the sea is often considerably calmer. The destination therefore largely depends on the weather and sea conditions. Because we are working with nature, seeing puffins is not guaranteed. Also, this is only a sailing there is no embarking on the Vigur Island or any island. Not recommend for Guests with mobility challenges.
