Begin your scenic two-hour kayaking tour with a short walk from the pier to the kayak center located behind the Maritime Museum. Here you will be given a safety briefing and instruction before setting out on a guided adventure in your one or two-person kayak through the glassine waters of the fjord, surrounded by the magnificent mountains of Isafjordur.

The waters around Isafjordur are inviting and tranquil, easily managed by visitors, and the unique vantage point is an optimal way to experience Iceland's native scenery up close. Just grab your paddle and you're off to explore.

With an endless array of fjords and bays so close by, it is no wonder that Isafjordur has earned a reputation as the sea kayaking center of Iceland. As you glide between the towering mountains, keep a lookout for a wonderful array of birds that populate the area. If you are lucky, you may also see seals and other curious marine life. If you happen to have binoculars with you, this would be the day to use them! From a kayak, you gain a true sense of closeness with the environment, and the peacefulness of the scenery refreshes the soul.

At the completion of your time on the water, conclude back at the kayak center and simply walk back to the ship. If you choose to explore on your own, the Maritime Museum is an excellent opportunity to learn about Isafjordur's history and to view a variety of fishing artifacts.
