WHAT YOU VISIT
Eilean Donan Castle
Situated on an island at the point where three great sea lochs meet, Eilean Donan Castle is one of the most romantic in Scotland and one of the most visited and important attractions in the Scottish Highlands. Erected in the 13th century by King Alexander II to fend off Vikings, the castle became a stronghold for the Mackenzie clan and their allies, the MacRaes. Restored in the 20th century by a descendant of the MacRae clan, the castle incorporates elements from its 800-year history. Upon arrival, you'll ooh and ahh as you walk across the stone bridge to the castle and tour the Banquet Hall, Drawing Room, Kitchen, Bedrooms and more. On display are 18th century dueling pistols, items related to Bonnie Prince Charlie and artifacts from the MacRae family. Following the tour, you'll have free time to explore on your own.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
Nestled in an ancient rift, formed by tectonic plate movement known as the Great Glen, Loch Ness stretches out 35 meters (22 miles) long and 1,190 meters 740) feet deep. Surrounded by photogenic low-lying mountains and lush forests, the loch's deep, murky waters is believed to be the home of the legendary "Nessie." While visiting Eilean Donan Castle, you may capture an image of "Lady Mary," an apparition often seen in the bedrooms.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
