WHAT YOU VISIT
Jesús Village
Originally part of a Franciscan monastery, the 500-year-old church is particularly well known for its religious paintings. The altarpiece, created in the 16th century, shows the Annunciation and other chapters from the life of Mary. Art historians call this the finest work in the Balaerics, and indeed among the most spectacular of its kind in all of Spain.
Santa Eulalia
Located on the island's only river, flour mills once reigned supreme along its shores, so this river once played a very important role in the commercialization of Ibizan agriculture. Its lone windmill stands as a reminder to the town's history where flour, wheat, barley and maize were ground.
Puig de Missa Church Located on a 52-meter-high (170 feet) mound, overlooking east coast and town of Santa Eulalia, the 500-year-old Puig de Missa is a stunning example of fortress churches built to defend local farmers from pirates. In fact, its semi-circular tower was equipped with weapons until the middle of the 19th century.
Vara Del Rey
This attractive square in Old Town is located outside the citadel walls and the old city gates, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in 1585, it served as the main entrance to the fortified town.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
Everywhere you point your camera is one memorable photo after another.
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
