From the pier you'll travel from Huatulco through the picturesque countryside and up into the Sierra Madre del Sur coastal mountain range. Rising over 3,700 meters (12,000 feet), the altitude is ideal for growing one of the world's most popular drinks. Upon arrival, you'll learn how organic coffee differs from regular-grown coffee-organic uses natural methods like composting, cover cropping, and reduced tillage to improve soil health and control pests while regular growers use synthetic fertilizers and pesticides to maximize yields and manage pests. After observing the step-by-step process you'll head to a local restaurant and watch a talented barista make a favorite coffee drink.
