WHAT YOU VISIT
Hike to Akrasanden Beach
Embark on an invigorating hike that takes you onto one of Norway's most beautiful beaches, a nature path home to rich fauna and birdlife, and a historical area dating back to the Viking Age. Your adventure begins at Akrasanden Beach, voted one of Norway's most beautiful beaches. Feel world's away as you continue on the trail to Ferkingstad village, once the homeland of two 7th century Viking kings. Here, you'll see stone monuments symbolizing King Augvald's two daughters and the remains of two 30-meter-long (90-feet-long) boathouses believed to be part of King Ferking's farm. Your hike ends at Fisherman's Memorial, a monument dedicated to local fishermen who lost their lives at sea, where you'll rejoin your coach for the return drive.
