What you will visit:

The Bay of Fundy: Explore the Ocean Floor

Explore the hidden wonders of the ocean floor at Burntcoat Head Park, perched on the Bay of Fundy-the very spot where the world's highest tides are recorded. Here, the average tide reaches 47.5 feet, with an extreme range of 53.6 feet. Twice each day, 160 billion tons of water flow in and out of the bay, creating a dramatic shoreline and a natural wonder recognized by Guinness World Records. Join your local guide for a hands-on tour across the exposed seabed to search for ancient fossils, spot periwinkles, and discover tidal creatures left behind as the water recedes. Afterward, enjoy free time to climb the lighthouse for sweeping views, stroll the walking trails, or browse the gift shop.

Fundy Tidal Interpretive Centre

Discover the incredible power of nature at the Fundy Tidal Interpretive Centre. Explore the fascinating history of the Maitland and South Maitland communities, once thriving hubs of shipbuilding and railway development. Learn all about the remarkable tidal bore phenomenon that defines this region. Enjoy free time to wander through the exhibits, stroll along the scenic walking trail, or take in breathtaking views of the mighty Shubenacadie River from the observation deck.

What you will see along the way:

Depart Halifax and relax on a 90-minute drive through Nova Scotia's rolling countryside. Travel through peaceful rural communities, pass open farmland and forests, and catch glimpses of coastal inlets along the way. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including soaring eagles. As you near the Bay of Fundy, the landscape transforms-flat fields give way to dramatic red cliffs and expansive tidal flats. Your journey ends at picturesque Burntcoat Head Park.

Lunch:

Enjoy your deluxe boxed lunch in the setting of your choice-whether at a picnic table, in the peaceful garden or, for the truly adventurous, right on the ocean floor during low tide.
