WHAT YOU VISIT
A Stroll through Guaymas
Founded in 1703, Guaymas is a natural port connecting Sonora to the rest of the world. Explore its roots with a walking tour in downtown Guaymas. Once off the shuttle, you'll follow your guide along Plaza 13 de Julio, site of many of the city's landmarks such as San Fernando Church. Built in the 19th century, the neoclassic monument is considered the cultural heart of the city. Just a short distance away is Tres Presidentes Plaza, which is dedicated to the three Mexican presidents that once called Guaymas home. A stroll down the malecón leads to Fisherman's Plaza and on to Plaza 13 de Julio where you can board the shuttle bus and return to the ship.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
In addition to the three statues honoring three former presidents, Tres Presidentes Plaza also features sculptures of sea lions and other marine life and City Hall. Known locally as the Municipal Palace, the gray and white landmark was constructed in 1889 in the Porfirian-era architectural style with European influences, elegant arches lining the facade and impressive stonework. From the tourist boardwalk, you can take beautiful photos of Guaymas Bay, known for its safety and natural protection for vessels during storms.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
The approximate 15-minute ride from the pier to downtown Guaymas travels along the scenic waterfront promenade with views of the bay and fishing boats.
