Situated amidst the lush beauty of Basse-Terre, the Zoo de Guadeloupe au Parc des Mamelles is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Here, you'll encounter a treasure trove of rare and endangered species, from the charming Ti raccoons to playful red pandas, iguanas and vibrant parrots. This sprawling sanctuary spans nearly 10 acres, providing a home to more than 450 fascinating creatures. For an enchanting perspective of the tropical flora and fauna, take a leisurely stroll along the park's elevated treetop walks. Suspended bridges soar 65 feet above the ground, offering an exhilarating bird's-eye view. If you prefer to keep your feet solidly on terra firma, wander through the serene botanical garden, adorned with wild orchids and blooming tropical trees.

What you will see along the way:

Embark on a scenic drive to a natural paradise, the National Park of Guadeloupe, recognized as a UNESCO biosphere reserve since 1992. Starting your journey from Pointe-à-Pitre, you'll traverse the picturesque Route de la Traversée, which takes you from one coast of Basse-Terre Island to the other, offering a glimpse into the heart of nature's beauty. As you wend your way through this tropical oasis, keep your eyes peeled for the diverse and exotic wildlife that call the Parc des Mamelles home.
