Prisoner's Quest: Uncover the Secrets
Step inside Her Majesty's Prison, the oldest prison in the Turks and Caicos Islands, for an interactive journey through nearly 200 years of Grand Turk history. Armed with a Quest Map, make your way through the colonial-era cell block, searching for clues, examining prisoner artifacts, and discovering stories of former inmates as you work to solve the mystery surrounding Julius Cesar's planned escape. Along the way, learn about an era when sea salt production drove the island's economy and smuggling was part of its history. See the historic water well and discover more about the prison, which remained in operation until 1994. After completing the quest, enjoy approximately 30 minutes to explore the historic prison grounds independently. Be sure to bring a pen or pencil to complete the quest.
