Hand-On Artisan Rug Tufting Experience Studio

Step into a creative studio setting and try your hand at the distinctive craft of rug tufting. With your station and materials prepared, follow your expert instructor through each stage of the process as you work yarn into a fabric backing to form a colorful, textured surface. Using a design influenced by the colors and heritage of Turks and Caicos, watch your travel-size rug gradually take shape. No previous experience is needed, making this an enjoyable introduction to a unique art form. At the end of the session, take your handcrafted rug with you as a personal memento of Grand Turk.

What you will see along the way:

Travel through Grand Turk and take in glimpses of the island's distinctive Caribbean character along the way. Grand Turk has a rich maritime and colonial history, with Cockburn Town serving as the capital of the Turks and Caicos Islands since 1766. Look for a blend of historic architecture and colorful island surroundings, with traditional buildings reflecting British colonial and Bermudian influences. Coastal scenery, turquoise waters and the laid-back atmosphere of this small island provide a scenic backdrop as you make your way to and from the studio.

Snacks:

A snack box is provided which may include a munchies mix (assorted chips and pretzels), assorted nuts mix, one bottle of water, and either a soft drink or juice.
