Board your motorcoach for a pleasant drive to Rapallo to meet your cruising vessel. Set off along the beautiful Paradise Coast to Portofino Bay, enjoying the spectacular coastline views. Admire the majestic Portofino Mountain and the St. Fruttuoso Abbey set deep within the waters of a turquoise inlet.
Upon docking in Portofino, you are free to sightsee independently. With its dramatic scenery, mild climate and delicious cuisine, it's no wonder this ancient fishing town has become the playground of the rich and famous. Hollywood stars and European royalty have flocked to the area since the 1950's, but its relaxed atmosphere and welcoming hospitality appeals to all.
Stroll through the streets and see the colorful houses built in a semi-circle around the Piazetta. Photograph the harbor dotted with luxury yachts and follow a small path in the heart of the village to the lighthouse. From here you will enjoy sweeping panoramic vistas.
If you are looking for a more energetic hike, visit Portofino National Park, where there are 31 miles of beautiful hiking trails that offer magical views of the lush chestnut and olive groves.
The Church of Saint Martin stands proudly in the town center and is a lovely spot to begin a stroll that takes you up the promontory to the church and castle of St. George. Here you will find the preserved relics, which were brought to Portofino by returning sailors from the crusades. From here you can see the lively Piazzetta.
Continue on to the magnificent gardens of Castillo Brown and find shade under the immense olive trees that guard the castle's property. The views from this vantage point are picture perfect.
Cobblestone streets lead you to elegant designer boutiques, art galleries and cafes. The shopping in Portofino is legendary and you'll work up an appetite while browsing through the wide variety of stores. Indulge in an authentic gelato or a frothy cappuccino to refresh yourself as you search for that perfect memento.
At the completion of your day, return to the dock at the designated time and enjoy the scenic cruise back to Rapallo and motorcoach ride back to the ship.
