WHAT YOU VISIT
Portofino
Nestled in a protected natural harbor, this charming fishing village boasts a quaint waterfront with views of boats in the harbor, colorful buildings that line the shore and local shops. It's also the gateway to Portofino Regional Natural Park. Set in the heart of the Ligurian Riviera, the park boasts 80 kilometers (50 miles) of hiking trails, 700 plant species and a diverse landscape ranging from lush Apennine forests to sunny olive groves perched on cliff sides.

Santa Margherita Ligure
Known as one of the "three pearls of the Gulf of Tigullio," Santa Margherita enchants visitors with its elegant promenade lined with palm trees, historic architecture, and colorful fishing boats. Enjoy free time to explore, shop, or enjoy a relaxing espresso by the sea.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
While visiting Santa Margherita, your guide will lead you to the Basilica of Santa Margherita of Antioch. Originally built in the 13th century, enlarged between the 16th and 17th centuries and renovated in the 18th century, it's a prime example of Gothic-Ligurian architecture with an octagonal tower, topped by small arches and ogival dome.

SNACKS
During your tour of Portofino, you'll stop at a 100-year-old bakery for a traditional Ligurian focaccia, a flat leavened oven-baked Italian bread and the renowned "focaccia al formaggio," a Ligurian specialty made of gooey cheese tucked between paper-thin layers of flatbread.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Soak up the views as you travel along a picturesque coastal route to Portofino with panoramic photo stops featuring breathtaking views of the Mediterranean.
