WHAT YOU VISIT
Royal Yacht Britannia
Launched by Queen Elizabeth II on April 16, 1953, the Royal Yacht Britannia served as a floating palace for Her Majesty and that of the royal family as she conducted diplomacy on the global stage. World leaders such as Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton, and celebrities like Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor were welcome guests. From the moment you climb the special pier side staircase and climb on board, you'll feel like a special guest, too. Decommissioned in 1997, the Royal Yacht Britannia has preserved spectacular furnishings and finishes, which were designed to the Queen's personal taste. Each room is filled with family photographs and treasured mementos from around the globe. You'll view such areas as the Queen's stateroom, the drawing room, the formal dining room, the bridge, the admiral's suite, the officers' wardroom and the crew quarters.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
Every corner of the Royal Yacht Britannia is a memory maker. Two can't-miss spots are The Royal Deck Tearoom, with its elegant, enclosed outdoor deck with original teak flooring and large glass windows; and the wood-paneled State Dining Room hosted dignitaries like Margaret Thatcher and U.S. presidents during official state visits.
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
