Your day of exploration begins as you reach the city of Edinburgh. Step inside the National Museum of Scotland. The diverse collections will take you on a journey of discovery through the history of Scotland, the wonders of nature, science and technology and many world cultures housed all under one roof.

Reboard your coach for an orientation tour of this fascinating city and then pause at a local hotel for lunch.

After lunch, your next stop is Edinburgh Castle, the great medieval fortress perched atop an eroded volcanic crag. When you reach the castle, there will be an uphill walk from the coach park to the castle entrance, over cobbled surfaces which are uneven in places.

Enter the superb fortress complex on Crown Square, you will explore the interior rooms and the grounds independently. The highlights include the apartments and Crown Room in the 14th century Royal Palace. View the chamber where Mary Queen of Scots gave birth to James VI of Scotland - later James I of England and founder of the Stuart Dynasty.
