WHAT YOU VISIT:
St. Jacob Beach:
Situated across the water from the Old City of Dubrovnik, St. Jacob Beach is one of the city's most popular recreation spots. Its lovely pebble beach is lined with shading trees and the water is swimmable. (Caution: it gets deep quickly so watch children carefully.) Sun umbrellas and lounge chairs are available.
Dubrovnik's Old Town:
Nicknamed the "Pearl of the Adriatic," Dubrovnik has long been a cultural capital with deep artistic traditions. Pedestrian-friendly Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, begins at 12th century Pile Gate, one of three original entry points to this walled city. Often referred to as the Croatian Athens, Dubrovnik's history can be traced in such Byzantine and Gothic architecture as Onofriou's Fountain and Sponza Palace. Chimes ring from the 14th century bell tower and the city's widest street, Stradun, has also become its most fashionable.
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY:
Dubrovnik Riviera:
Famous sea explorer Jacques Cousteau dubbed the Dubrovnik Riviera some of the cleanest and best-preserved waters in the world. Cruise along the deep blue coastline dotted with sandy beaches, dramatically steep cliffs, exotic vegetation and historic landmarks that delineate Dubrovnik's culture and heritage.
