WHAT YOU VISIT
Christ Church Cathedral
Founded in the early 11th century under the Viking king Sitric Silkenbeard, Christ Church Cathedral sits in the medieval heart of Dublin. Visitors from all over the world are welcomed to this important heritage site every day. Throughout the centuries, the cathedral has built a reputation for excellence in many areas through its liturgy, outreach, music, and hospitality.
Taylor's Three Rock Pub
This rambling farmhouse bar in Rathfarnham, one of Dublin's modern suburbs, boasts the largest thatched roof in Ireland. You'll be treated to a rip-roaring event of live traditional music, song and Irish dancing.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
Gothic arches, intricate stonework, and vibrant stained-glass windows inside Christ Church Cathedral make wonderful photo subjects (flash photography not allowed inside).
LUNCH
During your day-long adventure, you'll have a three-course menu at Taylor's Three Rock Pub. A sample menu includes starters of homemade cream of vegetable soup, freshly prepared Dublin bay seafood chowder, and chilled chicken caesar salad served with a freshly baked wheaten roll. Main course includes prime roast of Irish beef, panfried Three Rock breast chicken, Atlantic darne of salmon, traditional Irish beef and Guinness stew, all served with creamed potato and vegetables. For dessert, there's Taylor's lemon cheesecake followed by Taylors Irish coffee.
SHOPPING
You''ll have 45 minutes to discover Dublin's many charms and shops. Celtic jewelry, Donegal tweed clothing and accessories, milk chocolate, cheese and hand-knit fisherman's sweaters make ideal souvenirs.
