What you will visit:
Seaworld Explorer
This state-of-the-art semi-submarine remains above sea level all the time, but comfortably accommodates passengers below in a viewing hull, which sits five feet below the water's surface. Fully air-conditioned and certified by a Dutch shipping inspector, this completely safe experience offers an incredible opportunity to see under the water without getting wet! Huge glass windows provide breathtaking views of the colorful marine life and the many different varieties of coral. To enhance the experience even more, a diver swims alongside the submarine with food for the fish. This brings them right up to the window for intimate photo opportunities. You will be able to spot such varieties as yellowtail snapper, parrotfish, and sergeant majors, all native to these waters. This tour is suitable for the entire family and offers educational narration from knowledgeable guides.
Chobolobo:
A Dutch colonial country estate where the famous Curaçao liqueur is distilled, Chobolobo has been producing Blue since 1946. Blue is created from the peel of the Valencia orange planted by the Spaniards when they discovered Curaçao. But it almost wasn't so. The different climate and soil conditions changed this juicy fruit into a kind of bitter, almost inedible produce. It was not until decades later that someone discovered that the peels of this orange contained an essential oil with an extraordinarily pleasing fragrance. During your guided tour of the distillery, you will gain a good understanding of the process and will have an opportunity to sample the liqueur and purchase bottles to take home.
What you will see along the way:
Board your air-conditioned transportation at the pier and drive through Otrobanda, the newer district of the city and its cultural center. You will also see Queen Juliana Bridge, the highest bridge in the Caribbean at 185 feet above sea level.
