WHAT YOU VISIT
Hiking Corsica
A coach will drop you off at the trail. Breathe in the perfume of the fragrant maquis, absorb the amazing color palette and appreciate the contrasting landscapes as you walk along steep hillsides and see from the distance the Genoese watchtower, just one of the many defensive towers built in the 16th century to ward off attacks by Barbary pirates. From here, you'll have postcard-perfect views of the four Sanguinaire Islands and across the Gulf of Ajaccio. The path leads to Capo di Feno beach, where you can cool off in the turquoise waters.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
In addition to the stunning views of the Mediterranean and the rocky cliffs, the Sanguinaire Islands are a nesting place for seabirds, such the yellow-legged gull, ashen shearwater, and black-headed gull.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
En route, enjoy a quick stop at The Parata Viewpoint, located near Ajaccio, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Corsican coastline and the iconic Îles Sanguinaires. Perched on a rugged promontory, this scenic spot is home to the historic Genoese Tower of La Parata, a sentinel from the 16th century. Enjoy the dramatic interplay of sea and sky, lush Mediterranean flora, and the vivid colors of sunset, which make this one of the most picturesque locations on the island. Perfect for nature enthusiasts and photographers, the Parata Viewpoint is a serene escape into Corsica's natural beauty.

The instructor/guide will share commentary as you hike along the coastal path that cuts through the maquis, a scrubland mix of fragrant endemic plants specific to the island including Montpellier cistus and heather.

Schedule
