Artisans of Ocana and Fresh Market
Local artisans use Ocana's out-of-the-way setting and mesmerizing landscape as inspiration to create memorable products. Your first stop is the Maison des Senteurs, a distillery where the Caux Brothers scentmakers produce essential oils distilled from native Corsican plants and trees from the surrounding environment. Explore their international brand, learn how they use native trees and plants to create 13 different organic oils that are used for fragrances and natural healing purposes. Next, meet the Corsican black bee at Le Jardin des Abeilles honey farm. Discover bee behavior, walk through flower-lined pathways, sample an assortment of sweet honeys, pick up some souvenir jars before heading back to Ajaccio and a visit at the Fresh Market.

The approximate 45-minute ride takes you from the pier into a countryside dotted with oak, pine and beech trees.

The tour order may vary. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Guests must negotiate an incline to reach the oil distillery. Bring local currency or credit cards for purchases. The tour is not available in the afternoon as the market only opens in the morning. The tour is not available on Mondays.
