Countryside Drive & Cornish Cream Tea
Easy Activity

Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
Your excursion begins as you board your motorcoach at the pier. From Falmouth, you'll travel alongside the River Fal and Carrick Roads, the estuary for seven rivers. The scenic route takes you through a peaceful countryside, past small villages, granite farmhouses and hedged fields threaded by narrow roads, passing the occasional remains of old copper and tin mines, as well as the hamlets of Helston and Marazion.
You'll visit a local hotel for Cornish cream tea. Enjoy the ritual of freshly brewed tea and freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and jam. Clotted cream has been a specialty of Cornwall since the 14th century. Today cream teas are a British institution.
You'll stop for a photo opportunity at St. Michael's Mount. This dramatic, rocky island once boasted a Benedictine priory that was inspired by the famous Mont St. Michel in Normandy. The Mount is also a private home to the St. Aubyn family for more than three centuries. Accessible only by a narrow path exposed at low tide or by boat, snap a photo from the shoreline near Marazion.
For tours that offer more in-depth exploration with actual visits to one or more sites, see the other options in this port.
