WHAT YOU VISIT
Picture Perfect: City Selfies in Copenhagen
Your guided selfie safari of Copenhagen's cherished icons begins at the majestic Neo-Baroque Christiansborg Palace, once the home of kings and queens and today, houses the country's parliament. Nearby, the Nyhavn waterfront district features brightly colored 17th and 18th century townhouses and a canal packed with old wooden ships. As you approach Rosenborg Castle along Nyhavn's narrow alleyways, you'll marvel at the beautiful King's Gardens, which are the oldest royal gardens in Denmark. Then view Frederik's Church, also known as the Marble Church for its gleaming, highly decorated rococo marble exterior. No visit to Copenhagen is complete without seeing the impressive Amalienborg Palace; the four French-style Rococo mansions have been the homes of Danish royals since 1794. The tour concludes at the Little Mermaid statue, the city's charm.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
The Little Mermaid bronze statue may be Copenhagen's most iconic site. Measuring 1.25 meters (approximately 4 feet), it sits on a rock by the waterside at the Langelinie promenade and is a selfie sweetheart. While the statue is offshore on a rock, you may wade onto the rocks to get closer; but beware, the rocks can be very slippery. Stroll along Nyhavn, Copenhagen's iconic waterfront lined with colorful historic houses, lively cafés, and picturesque boats, perfect for memorable photos. Admire Copenhagen's magnificent royal palaces, including Amalienborg, Rosenborg and Christiansborg, offering stunning architecture and excellent photo opportunities.
