WHAT YOU WILL VISIT
The Grounds of Chateau des Ravalets - Constructed between 1567 and 1575, this picturesque Renaissance castle appears as if out of a fairy tale. Unfortunately, its occupants, Julien and Marguerite de Raval, did not live happily ever after, having been beheaded by King Henry IV in 1603. The chateau served as a farm for many years before Viscount Rene de Tocqueville renovated it and laid out the elaborate gardens in 1872. Enjoy the beauty of this verdant retreat, which features a French garden, an English garden and exquisite greenhouses.

Cherbourg Harbor - Long a fishing village, Cherbourg grew rapidly when its harbor was enhanced through an ambitious engineering project in the mid-19th century. Today one of the largest manmade harbors in the world supports a bustling fishing and shipping industry. Enjoy free time to wander the piers and boardwalks, browsing local shops and taking in the seaside atmosphere.
