What You Will Visit:
Science Snorkel Adventure
Embark on a guided snorkel that combines discovery with impact. By joining Bleu World's Catalina Monitoring Program, you'll take part in a long-term community science effort tracking how marine ecosystems respond to a changing climate. Your adventure features Lover's Cove and Casino Point, two State Marine Conservation Areas where protection has created havens of biodiversity. Beneath the surface, you'll encounter a dazzling mix of life, from bottom-dwelling sharks and rays resting in the sand to schools of vibrant fish weaving through the kelp. Equipped with an underwater slate and fish identification sheet, you'll survey the kelp forest, recording every species you observe. As you move among towering kelp fronds, glimpse brilliant Garibaldi or notice a ray camouflaged on the seafloor, you'll be both explorer and conservationist, helping protect Catalina's underwater treasures for generations to come.
What You Will See Along the Way:
This snorkeling tour takes you to two of Catalina's most celebrated marine areas. Explore Lover's Cove Marine Preserve, known for its calm waters, dramatic cliffs, and lush vegetation. Look for brilliant Garibaldi, Calico bass, and Sheepshead weaving through the kelp forests. Visit Casino Point Underwater Park, located beside Catalina's iconic Casino Building. Established in 1962 as the nation's first nonprofit underwater park, this 2.5-acre sanctuary offers snorkelers crystal-clear water, towering kelp forests, and a rich diversity of marine species, all protected from surf and mainland pollution.
